You Should be Proud I’m Not a Coward Like You Dad: A letter to a Wall Street banker from his son

It’s all fraud dad, your entire fucking life is pure fraud and you should be proud of the fact that I’ve decided to revolt against the deception. Tell me one thing in your life that’s not false dad, the women, they’re paid prostitutes; the money, it’s all made through exploitation and theft. You tell me you coward, one thing that you have built without the assistance of your name and granddad’s fortune. Nothing dad, you are nothing but a piece of shit living a life of privilege on the back of government connections and business fraud.

Pussy Riot - Revolt in Russia, Putin’s got scared!

on Saturday, 04 February 2012. Posted in Recent politic, General music news

Before the police dragged them off, the members of Pussy Riot, the Russian day-glo balaclava-clad punk rock protesters, sang their anthem “Revolt in Russia” (“Revolt in Russia – the charisma of protest ”) near the Kremlin

Their inspiration for a style of resistance never before seen in Russia, was the riot grrrl punk movement, including groups like Kathleen Hanna’s Bikini Kill, and flash mobs. The young women of the collective, average age 25, have revealed only the smallest details about their lives. None will divulge their day jobs. They only use first-names. In the two weeks since their mid-January action, the all-female group has become a potent symbol of anger at the status quo in Russian society and their videos have gone viral all over the world. Like many young people in Russia, the members of the Pussy Riot collective are furious at Vladamir Putin’s plans to seek the presidency again and his return was the impetus behind the formation of the group (as well as their song “Putin Has Pissed Himself”).

Green Circles—Al Khufrah Oasis, Libya

on Thursday, 02 February 2012. Posted in Recent politic, Space, Science

Green circles in the desert frequently indicate tracts of agriculture supported by center-pivot irrigation.

The Al Khufrah Oasis in southeastern Libya (near the Egyptian border) is one of Libya’s largest agricultural projects, and is an easy-to-recognize landmark for orbiting astronauts aboard the International Space Station. Because only about 2 percent of Libya’s land receives enough rainfall to be cultivated, this project uses fossil water from a large underground aquifer. The Libyan government also has a plan called the Great Man Made River to pump and transport these groundwater reserves to the coast to support Libya’s growing population and industrial development.

UFC President Dana White Calls Out Anonymous, Plugs SOPA, Gets KTFO

Dana White may think twice before picking a fight with the world's largest hacker collective

UFC President Dana White, also a co-owner in the company, took to Twitter blasting Anonymous and promoting SOPA.  On Jan. 22 he wrote, "@masontbell9 nice fake account. Hacking the site is not a big deal dummy. We are not in the website biz. Today was a great day!!! Pats!!!!" --------- The on Jan. 22 he taunted, "@fjbar75 the Internet is the coward capital of the world" -------------- But yesterday the exchange grew more heated after Dana White threw his support in for SOPA in a UFC on FOX 2 post-press conference interview.  He commented, "Is SOPA the perfect bill? No, it's not.  The only thing that we're focused on is piracy. Piracy is stealing. If you walk into a store and steal a f------ gold watch, it's the same as stealing a pay-per-view. I don't care what your twisted, demented idea of stealing is. These kids grew up on the Internet never had to pay for anything, so they don't think they should have to."

Polish Politicians Don Guy Fawkes/Anonymous Masks To Protest ACTA Signing

There's been lots of talk today about how various EU governments are agreeing to sign ACTA (which still needs to be ratified by the EU Parliament). It's gotten the most attention in Poland, where there were mass protests

WARSAW, Poland (AP) — Poland on Thursday signed an international copyright agreement, sparking more demonstrations by Internet users who have protested for days over fear it will lead to online censorship. After the signing, protesters rallied in the Polish cities of Poznan and Lublin to express their anger over the treaty. Lawmakers for the left-wing Palikot's Movement wore masks in parliament to show their dissatisfaction, while the largest opposition party — the right-wing Law and Justice party — called for a referendum on the matter.

Will Kurtz's "Extra Fucking Ordinary" opens at the Mike Weiss Gallery

on Wednesday, 18 January 2012. Posted in Recent politic, Bizzar & fun

NEW YORK, NY.- Mike Weiss Gallery presents "Extra Fucking Ordinary, Will Kurtz's debut exhibition at the gallery.

The show consists of life size figural sculptures constructed of collaged torn sheets of newspaper, wood, wire, screws, tape and everyday objects which depict the characters captured by Kurtz's iPhone camera lens. Utilizing the observing eye of a curious urban voyeur, Will Kurtz spends large portions of his days combing the streets of New York for his subjects, which are later transformed into sincere and amusing life-size sculptures. It is not the subjects' aesthetic appeal that draws Kurtz as much as their essence and strong representation of the multitude of prototypes that typify New York City: from an old married couple and endearingly eccentric dog owners to curmudgeonly middle-aged smokers. On exhibition through February 18th.

Sony's homepage to be plastered with pirated music in protest of SOPA.

Coordinated teams of hacktivists will wage war on Sony on Monday to punish the company for supporting the controversial US Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA).

The Anonymous collective plans to hack Sony.com and load the homepage with BitTorrent files that allow users to download copyright-protected music and movies -- the very action SOPA is designed to prevent.

Hackers also plan to strike Sony Music's online store, reducing the cost of songs to zero.
